Have you dined with us before? ~
1. Good Floof from CARLEEN
Years and years ago, inspired by my pal Lizzie Mettler, I shrunk the size of my wallet and stopped using a handbag, preferring jacket or pants pockets. I really do still stand by this system (can we call it that?), however every so often I am tempted. This week, I am tempted—unsurprisingly and once again—by CARLEEN, who released a lil’ limited run collection of patchwork and tastefully ruffled handbags. Identity crisis: secured.
2. Sugihara Fine Furniture
Nick Sugihara is one half of IJJI, a favorite clothing brand that puts out simple, functional, and genderless clothing. I have always particularly loved the sets. Nick has a new project which, I think can also wear all the same adjectives, Sugihara Fine Furniture. Each one-of-a-kind, wooden piece of furniture seems to have a similar attention to details and ~just~ the right amount of embellishment (which is to say, not much). I am particular into the toilet paper holder, personally.
3. Salmon Creek Farm T-Shirt Fundraiser
Oh gosh guys, looks like it’s an apparel-heavy week over here. She is feeling fancy. My next offering comes from Salmon Creek Farm, a commune and retreat space for artists and the artistically-inclined/adjacent in Central California run by Fritz Haeg, who I saw speak and have been eagerly following since way back when he was busy wildflowering LA. I am, predictably, obsessed.
The cabins at Salmon Creek Farm need new roofs! To raise the $125k to do this, they’ve released these (quite nice looking, hey) t-shirts. Designed by the Farm’s caretaker Ethan Delorenzo, each t-shirt is screen printed on “regionally foraged” vintage shirts.
4. Garlic-Parsley-Butter Sauce
There’s sort of a “you can take a girl outta Rhode Island” joke here, but lets just push through… I love clams. I especially love clams when people come for dinner because (a) they are delicious and I love clams, (b) they are inexpensive, so you can go nuts buying tons of clams, and (c) they are quick and easy to make, so you can actually talk to the nice people who came to see you at your house.
I will be making clams tonight, when some people come over to eat. My newly preferred way to make clams is accompanied by the following classic sauce-combo: butter and parsley and garlic. It’s the typical accompaniment for escargot, but it works beautifully here.
☺︎
And! I hope you enjoy your weekend, everyone. I have been enjoying a real surge of overwhelming feelings of joy in this space. You write lovely and affirming comments, you reply beautiful and encouraging things directly, too. I appreciate you, thank you for being here!

i suppose I ought to consider putting at least one clam - preferably one of yours - on my bucket list
You can take the girl outta Rhode Island 😂
You know the other day I had lunch with two people from New Hampshire and they didn’t know what a stuffie was and a little part of me died.
