By now, you probably have heard—or seen—that ICE’s next operation is taking place here in Maine. I have been so heartened by my people in Portland who snapped right into action. Here are some other resources: (1) A signup for public comment, which is needed for a new law to pass the Maine state legislature which prohibits ICE from entering any private space, stores, schools, etc. (2) Donate to the Maine Solidarity Fund and/or Maine Immigrant Right Coalition. (3) MIRC’s resource hub has important phone numbers and a downloadable, printable flyer that we can put up explaining people’s rights. Also: Stay safe out there, buds.
