There’s a lot of Maine and it’s littered with so many little pockets and corners and treasures. Remember this post when we visited Liberty Tool Company? It’s kind of like that, but an entire state. Just when I think I’ve got a sense of it, there’s even more and different just around the bend. If you’ve been to High Season Market before, you are probably well familiar with this feeling. Way down several winding roads trailing off of Route 1, through the woods, past the general store and the little league field, almost to the end of the St George Peninsula, in Port Clyde, you’ll come up to a sweet, historic grange hall that is absolutely teaming with activity, a veritable bee hive, but where the bees are all wearing Rudy Jude utility pants.
For the third year running, I’ve been a part of the market; originally selling vintage children’s clothes and this year representing this-here publication! When I sheepishly asked the Rudy Jude team if it was OK if I switched up what I’d done in the past, coming as Treehouse and not the vintage clothes, the response was along the lines of: “We’re in support of whatever current creative Zinzi project.” That warmth, support, friendship and just easy-going approach is felt throughout the actual event, too.
The vibe is good.
But, Port Clyde is not close to almost anywhere except my own personal house. So: For those who are unable to attend, I thought I’d do a special edition of The Source featuring all the vendors who will be present—or, at least the ones you can order stuff from online. And if you *are* planning to be there, consider this a little preview. 🦞🤍
GRAZIE GRAZIE SOCKIES | I happen to personally own two pairs of these indigo tie dyed socks and wear both pairs every week, I love them so well. They are a pale comparison to the GG baked goods, but THEY’LL DO.
FRESH PICKIN’S BEACH ROSE FACE OIL | New to the market and looks great! I also have my eyes on the whole lineup of chaga stuff.
GINNY SIMS CERAMICS | Yeah, I mean, this is just one of those situations where you close your eyes and point because they’re all so good and there’s no way to miss. Also new to the market!
LINDQUIST OBJECT AMALFI STRIPED FABA | Lindquist is one of those companies that people become real heads about, primarily because it’s just all so damn good. These little stripey guys are almost too much to take, aren’t they?
MISHA & PUFF | Ok, well, besides the oysters and the Rudy Jude sample sale this one might be the hardest to recreate because it’s *also* a sample sale at the market. HOWEVER, if you happen to coincide with the right size, the current sale section online shouldn’t be overlooked.
MAKING THINGS | There exist many, many opportunities to make THINGS with Erin Boyle and Rose Pearlman, the authors of Making Things (who I am very sure you all remember from our interview here!). You can get tickets for their workshops here.
OYSTER RIVER WINEGROWERS MORPHOS | Our friendly local winemaker, Oyster River, will be at the market to make it all the more revelrous.
SARAH G LEE | If your walls are bare, Sarah, also known as Spruce Tree Studio, will have many of her paintings at the market. And even if your walls AREN’T bare, you might want to consider swapping them out!
RUDY JUDE | The reason for the season! I’m particularly feeling this sweet vest that’s still available for pre-orders.
A SMALL GOOD | Our local charcute-atarians, A Small Good, will be at the market with all sorts of smoked meats and sausages and “proper bacon.”
URSA MAJOR DIAMOND FLUTED HOOPS | I wear these hoops everyday and I never take them off. Which is sort of the general vibe of all Kate Jones’ jewelry, to be honest.
TART VINEGAR | Tart vinegars seem to be sadly sold out online, but you can still purchase a gift card so that future you will be set up.
TONY SHIRTMAKERS | Tony’s shirts (and jackets and trousers) are just so dreamy and I think it’s especially very cool that he’s introduced this ready-to-wear collection for all the rest of us (previously, Tony’s work was only available made to order!). The jacquard fabric of this particular one is really special.
WONDER VALLEY HINOKI BODY WASH | There are so many Wonder Valley products that are daily staples in my particular household (others include, this Wonder Serum and Oud Incense), but this is the one that we seem to buy and go through in multiples. It’s very good.
TY WILLIAMS PRINTS | You, too, can take home a lil piece of Ty Williams’ art through the Imagine Fine Art Print Shop!

Your partner was manning the booth at the market when I passed by! Picked up a gorgeous zine and many gooooodies. The 13 hour trip from Canada was worth it ;)
